Permanent and Contract Junior Estimator Jobs

A junior estimator plays an instrumental role in calculating expected costs of construction projects and providing guidelines related to time frames. This important role enables contractors to make competitive, realistic bids. To apply for this role, candidates will need a degree in engineering, construction science or construction management in addition to certification. Junior estimators should have a firm grasp on figures and numbers and be able to compile and analyse complex reports and purchase orders. This role requires excellent organisational and time management skills, and verbal communication and customer service skills are hugely beneficial. Candidates should be well-versed in the use of modern software and computer applications, and the ability to work under pressure is essential. Accuracy is also key, as the information gathered by estimators is utilised to create bids and pitch ideas and contracts to clients and organisations. An interest in building and construction is highly desirable.
