Job description

Navartis are currently working with an international renewable energy client who have a unique opportunity to join their organisation, based in Brisbane with immediate effect, to work on large scale utility solar farm projects nationally. The O&M Manager will develop and implement the O&M plans, procedures and work instructions to implement the asset strategy. An annual planning process is to be implemented that reviews the previous year's activities and proposes improvements under a continuous improvement process. The O&M role includes the development and implementation of the safety procedures for all O&M staff including the isolation procedures to permit access to operate and maintain the plant. Regular safety audits will be required to ensure compliance with all legal requirements and to ensure that all staff undertake their activities in a compliant and safe manner. The O&M Manager is also to work closely with the trading function to optimise the timing and cost of the operations and maintenance to optimise the gross margin of each individual plant. All activities will be required to be undertaken with sound engineering and operational practices and to standards acceptable within the industry. A system of reporting on daily, weekly and monthly basis is to be implemented so that staff at all levels receive the requisite information for them to undertake their roles and obligations and also to ensure that senior management are kept informed in a timely manner as to the technical and financial status of the operations and maintenance activities.

The role is responsible for the development, implementation and management of all operations and maintenance functions. It will work closely with the Asset Manager who will set the asset strategy and will act as the owner's representative in respect to high level asset management.

The O&M Manager will develop and implement the O&M plans, procedures and work instructions to implement the asset strategy. An annual planning process is to be implemented that reviews the previous year's activities and proposes improvements under a continuous improvement process.

The O&M role includes the development and implementation of the safety procedures for all O&M staff including the isolation procedures to permit access to operate and maintain the plant. Regular safety audits will be required to ensure compliance with all legal requirements and to ensure that all staff undertake their activities in a compliant and safe manner.

The role will be required to implement drug and alcohol testing for all parties that enter the site.

The O&M Manager is also to work closely with the trading function to optimise the timing and cost of the operations and maintenance to optimise the gross margin of each individual plant.

A number of the operations and maintenance activities may be outsourced requiring the establishment of such contracts and the ongoing management of those activities.

All activities will be required to be undertaken with sound engineering and operational practices and to standards acceptable within the industry.

The O&M Manager will be responsible for the technical compliance of all O&M activities with the applicable Australian standards and within all legal governance requirements.

A system of reporting on daily, weekly and monthly basis is to be implemented so that staff at all levels receive the requisite information for them to undertake their roles and obligations and also to ensure that senior management are kept informed in a timely manner as to the technical and financial status of the operations and maintenance activities.

In return you will be rewarded with a highly competitive remuneration package comprising of base salary, super and company bonus. You will be based in Brisbane but there will be the expectation for you to travel out to the site locations across the country when required.
