Job description

Job Title:
- HSE Advisor, my client are also interested in hearing from; Health and Safety Advisor, HSQE Advisor, SHEQ Advisor

Location:
- Cheshire ideal for those based in; Macclesfield, Crewe, Stockport, Stoke-On-Trent and Northwich

Salary / Benefits:
- £45,000 to £50,000 plus package

Start Date:
- Immediate Start available

Company Information:
- My client is a busy and impressive large construction company specialising in works across Civils, Rail and Major Infrastructure. They are currently looking to appoint a strong HSE professional with a focus primarily on environmental.

To be suitable for the position you must have;
- 5yrs+ experience as a Health and Safety advisor in a Civil Engineering environment
- Good understanding of permits and environment is crucial
- Major project experience
- Strong ability in Reviewing RAMS by both internal staff and subcontractors
- Great man management skills and be able to work within a team-driven environment
- Full UK Driving License

Although not essential it would also be advantageous if you have;
- IEMA membership
- Experience on new build Road projects
- Main Contractor background

Role Information;
- Provide onsite HSE management across a major Civil Engineering project.
- Manage the review process for risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) submitted internally & by contractors to ensure planned work is being prepared within the safety envelope provided to produce suitable & sufficient work packs,
- Monitor the site to ensure ongoing compliance
- Deliver induction meetings for new starters and visitors to ensure they know what is expected from them on site
- Check workers training records to ensure they are competent in their trade using tools such as CITB card checker before allowing work to start, monitor expiration dates and identify future requirements to organise training as required
- Regularly update HSE notice board with relevant topics such as lifting equipment tags, weather, safety alerts and health advice
- Maintain & develop SHEQ files, construction phase plans, Traffic & pedestrian management plans, LOLER, COSHH records / assessments & training files ensuring compliance to standards
- Lead safety & environmental walkabouts, inspections and audits internal and external highlighting areas for improvement and identifying good or bad practices
- Send reports and pictures to management and contractors providing feedback with solutions & produce tool box talks relevant to findings and current / planned works
- Lead accident & incident investigations compiling reports for senior management, principal contractor & SHEQ department identifying route causes and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
