We have a current opportunity for a Contracts Manager on a permanent basis. The position will be based in London & South East Region.
Duties:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as the Contracts Manager will be required to work with a wide range of different contacts such as subcontractors, contractors, architects, and suppliers.
- Technical understanding of construction, with good knowledge of building codes, trade sequencing, and best construction practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills, as they will be required to deal with complex and detailed projects.
- A strong sense of judgment which will enable the Contracts Manager to make major decisions for construction projects and also understand the implications of their choices.
- Five years plus experience working at a Contracts Manager level
- Main Contactor experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Building Science, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or any other relevant field.
- Researching, gathering, and presenting information to clients and/or stakeholders regarding contracts
- Overseeing and/or managing the ordering of materials and supplies
- Preparing budgets and ensuring that the completion and production of construction projects fall within budget and timescale.
- Value Engineering projects when required.
- Supervising staff and workers and working collaboratively with them when required.
- Creating and maintaining healthy relationships with suppliers and customers
