Permanent And Contract Construction Manager Jobs

A Construction Manager’s role is to make sure that a building project is completed efficiently and safely. They ensure that it is working within the set time frame and that the budget of the project is remaining intact. Supervising a team of construction workers, they have a close relationship with surveyors and other professions that work on a building project.

What skills are needed to become a Construction Manager?

- Brilliant communication skills, allowing you to plan a project with your team and other professionals working on the project

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate your construction team

- Able to utilise time, as well as resources effectively

- Able to stick to a strict schedule

- Problem-solving skills – not everything might go to plan on a building project, therefore you need to know how to react quickly to overcome any unexpected challenges that arise

- Can make any decisions needed under pressure

- Excellent attention to detail to ensure safety and that the building proposal is followed strictly

- Experience in dealing with legislation and health and safety procedures

- Ability to use project management software, manage finances and other crucial IT and maths skills needed for the task at hand
