Today is International Women’s Day, a day which shines the light on innovation by women, for women and celebrates the actions taken by all to achieve gender equality.

At Navartis we’re proud to be a business which promotes an equal and diverse team. With in excess of 70 recruiters in our Head Office in Doncaster, our staff is 50% women and we applaud the positive contribution they make to our own business and industry. We proactively recruit women in roles across all levels, from Business Managers and Managing Consultants, to Senior and Trainee Recruitment Consultants.

On International Women’s Day we take the opportunity to shine the spotlight on just a few of the influential women in the Navartis team.

Managing Consultant Lisa-Marie Park joined Navartis in 2013 and has progressed from Recruitment Consultant to Managing Consultant in just five years. Lisa-Marie leads a sub-team of 4 recruiters, half of which are women. She said: “I’m proud to be part of a forward-thinking business and relish the opportunity to lead a diverse team of amazing, hard-working recruitment professionals.”

Roxanne Colcombe previously worked in the automotive industry and recently joined Navartis as Trainee Recruitment Consultant. “Having worked for the past eight years in the motor trade, which is a very male-dominated industry, it’s refreshing and motivating to be able to see a clear progression route for females at Navartis! It’s a meritocratic industry, where equality isn’t a daily issue I have to face anymore.”

Navartis are specialist recruiters who actively place women in senior and managerial positions across the Rail, Power, Civils, Construction and Infrastructure sectors throughout the UK, Europe, Australia and Canada. The last two years have seen a 2% increase in the engineering industry’s female workforce, while one in three engineers working on London Crossrail (one of London’s most ambitious rail projects) is a woman. At Navartis we are proud of the contribution we are making to promote equality and diversity in these historically male-dominated industries.

Melonie Debenham has 27 years of recruitment experience and joined Navartis as Business Manager and Civils Recruitment Specialist. “We recruit for very male-dominated industries and most of the candidates we work with are men,” she commented. “I have never been met with any subjective opinions questioning my capability; we now live in an objective world where your business partnerships are built around your abilities and skill-sets rather than your gender.”

We hope you’ll join us in celebrating International Women’s Day. We’re always proactively looking for hard-working and passionate people to join our diverse and growing team. Follow us on Facebook to see what we're up to, or click here to start your journey.
