Permanent and Contract CAD Technician Jobs

If you are looking for a job in computer-related design, then learning CAD systems is a good idea and one that will stand you in good stead for a long time to come. A lot of people who want to work in computer and art-related fields focus on other aspects of design, such as Photoshop, or 3D/games animation. While these tools can be fun to learn, compared to other markets they are quite saturated and getting a job in design is quite competitive. CAD, however, is just as skilled and satisfying and skilled workers are always in demand, so it is easier to find quality employment.

CAD technicians work with CAD and CAM machinery, making designs that can be converted into real world products. They use software such as AutoCAD for their work and they can get a lot of satisfaction out of making quality designs that will be used in manufacturing and industry. There are lots of great entry-level courses that you can study online if you are looking to retrain to enter this niche, and you will find that there is always a demand for skilled technicians with an eye for detail and a working knowledge of Autodesk's industry standard software.
