Permanent and Contract CAD Engineer Jobs

Are you interested in helping to create new buildings and machinery? As a CAD design engineer, you can create and conceive both 2D and 3D designs that will become the blueprints for a new product or building. It will be your responsibility to create a 2D surface model of a product like a car for a client. The client will then check your plan and offer advice on how they want it changed. Engineers will then work on the approved plan to create a prototype.

3D models are slightly more advanced as they can allow engineers to get a more immersive idea of a new building or product. This can help them create plans of how to improve the building or product in new and exciting ways.

Your designs aren’t just for building something new though. You will be given the responsibility of establishing everything from cost estimates to instructions for assembly and repair manuals.

Typically, you won’t be designing the entire model yourself. Instead, you will be working on a small or limited part with duties provided by a design engineer. However, career progression can be rapid and ultimately you can become a project manager, taking full responsibility for design work.
